36th Annual Turks Head Music Festival | July 15
The first Turks Head Music Festival held in the summer of 1970 earned the title of “Little Woodstock” in the papers. Today, this meetup of local bands is a much-loved celebration of community that draws hundreds to Everhart Park.
Set up shop with a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the day with friends and neighbors. The event runs from noon until 8 PM and two different stages will be hosting top acts. Pop over to an attending food truck for yummy carnival food or a frozen treat, shop from local art and gift stands, enjoy Everhart’s play area with the kids, or just sit back and relax as you listen to live music on the lawn.
Benchmark Twilight Cycling Classic | August 11
Summer is a great time to hit the trails on a bike ride, and whether you’re a true cycling enthusiast or just a novice, August 11 is a date you’ll want to mark down on your calendar. The Benchmark Twilight Cycling Classic attracts the professional and amateur bike racers alike to the center of downtown West Chester for a thrilling road race series.
Aside from taking part in the contagious energy of cyclers whizzing by and working toward the finish line, there’s plenty of family-friendly fun to take part in over the course of the day. Enter a raffle or giveaway with a local business, indulge in scrumptious offerings from local food purveyors, and so much more!
14th Annual Secret Gardens Tour | September 8
Enjoying your garden while entertaining or relaxing is a summertime treat for many in the area. If you love flowers and are looking for some garden-inspiration to take back home, the 14th Annual Secret Gardens Tour of West Chester is the event for you.
This colorful and awe-inspiring event takes you on a private garden tour of some of the most breathtaking, fragrant, and tranquil garden oases in the northwest section of West Chester’s borough. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 on the day of, and proceeds go to the horticultural therapy program at Barclay Friends, a long-term care community.
