3 Automotive Learning Podcasts To Get Hooked On

If you can’t get enough of revving engines, car trivia, or the latest news in the auto industry, you might be looking for more ways to get your fill.

Picking up the latest issue of Motor Trend or watching Car Matchmaker is perfectly acceptable, but if you have yet to get into automotive podcasts, you’re missing out on a whole new medium of car news, enticing workshop walkthroughs, and compelling banter between industry greats.

To help you tune into the best automotive learning podcasts out there, Automotive Training Center (ATC) created the following podcast list that every car enthusiast should check out. Read more about each of these addictive auto podcasts before you listen, featured in alphabetical order below: 

Ammo Auto Care

Ammo Auto Care is a car care company and specialty services provider with a well-known line of preservation and protection detailing products.

The Ammo Auto Care podcast explores the finer points of interior and exterior vehicle detailing. Some recent show topics include how the outer shells of exotic sports cars are kept spotless, how historic WWII planes get restored, hands-on tips on polishing techniques, and available professions in the detailing community. 


Described as “your favorite website devoted to a love of all things with wheels and an engine,” the Hooniverse podcast seeks to share the incredible garage stories and rare racing facts of cars new and old.

The Hooniverse podcast hosts often bring in famed voices from the racing community, as well as the occasional motorcycle buff. Listening is an enlightening experience in the weird and wonderful car realm that traverses a wide range of topics. One recent chat discussed how guitars sometimes use automotive paints for their finishes. Another was a review of various automotive listings on Craigslist, including a former police bike.

The Smoking Tire

Earning one of the top three spots in iTunes’ highly coveted automotive listening category is The Smoking Tire podcast, a meetup of enthusiasts talking all things automotive. Host Matt Farah has reviewed over 1,000 cars, worked in dealerships, and even owned his own car wash.

From recounts of traveling the country to getting behind the wheel of new and tricked out rides to catching up with industry players and stand-up comedians, Matt’s vast love of cars and multi-faceted industry experience make for a hilarious show.
