Our Marine Warminster Campus

Marine TechnicianATC’s Warminster campus is the perfect location to mold boating enthusiasts into qualified marine technicians. Eight large water tanks are on campus and designed to provide our students with the proper setting for testing outboard and inboard/outboard engines. Students will be able to properly identify issues with engines based on how they operate in the water, which is a skill set that modern-day marine technicians need to use every day.

There’s no such thing as a marine technician education without in-water experience. At ATC’s Warminster campus, students will get an industry-level education thanks to the marine service shops and tanks provided.

Expansive Marine Curriculum

At ATC’s boat mechanic school, students will be introduced to the many facets of marine technology. With a diverse curriculum, you’ll be a more proficient marine technician when it comes to applying for open positions after you graduate.

Along with learning standard maintenance and performance updates on the wide variety of industry-standard engines, such as Yamaha and Honda, students will be introduced to the mechanics of marine vessel support systems, such as electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling, and fiberglass and gelcoat repair in order to be a well-rounded, industry-ready marine technician.

Diverse Career Paths

With the education you’ll receive from ATC’s boat mechanic school, you’ll be prepared and qualified for a number of careers in the marine industry. While you’ll become a skilled marine technician thanks to the marine service technology program at ATC, you can also pursue a career as one of the following:

A History of Providing Marine Courses to Future Technicians

Why go anywhere else for your marine mechanic school training when you can learn from the experienced instructors here at ATC? This is something we’ve been doing for years, after all. Back in 2002, we partnered with Honda Marine to provide training on Honda Outboard marine engines to authorized dealership technicians in the northeast region.

In 2006, our Warminster campus became approved to begin training in Marine Service Technology. Mercury Marine partnered with ATC to offer Mercury University dealer service training at our Warminster campus, as well.

In 2009, we were honored that the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) designated our Warminster campus as their training and test site for marine certification classes. Just a few short years ago, in 2016, we partnered with Yamaha Motor Corporation, offering instructional resources in Yamaha Outboard engines to the marine service program. We have the equipment, tools, and knowledge when it comes to marine school training.

Get Ready to Live the Marine Mechanic Lifestyle

As a marine mechanic, you’ll have the chance to work each day on inboard, outboard, and sterndrive engines. These are the engines powering the fishing boats, motorboats, sailboats, and yachts you may see on the waters near you, whether you’re by the lake in the Poconos or down at the shore for another summer. If you’re working on these boats, you need to be fully prepared for what each day may bring.

Sure, knowing all about the engine and how it works can go a long way. Beyond that, though, you’ll need to understand the support systems, like air conditioning, heating, plumbing, and electrical. You will also perform plenty of routine maintenance, whether it’s an oil change or just cleaning the gelcoat and fiberglass to ensure it looks good.

Of course, when all is said and done for the season, it’s time to winterize. Marine technicians are always busy around the fall, preparing boats to get through the winter months. Then, it’s time to do it all over again.
