The Automotive and Hi- Performance Technology program enables graduates to acquire the knowledge needed to specialize in hi-performance and engine technology, with a focus on diagnosis, reconditioning, and preparation for assembly of major engine components.

Our Facilities and Equipment

The facilities at Automotive Training Center include a student computer lab and library, classrooms, specialized hands-on labs, administrative offices, a spacious collision repair shop, marine service training area, and vehicle bays.

The specialized hands-on labs are equipped for training on gasoline and diesel engines, manual and automatic transmissions, drive train, brakes, and marine service.

Plus, you will have access to the latest equipment, including:

  • Superflow SF-450 Flowbench
  • Hines Legend Crankshaft Balancer
  • Mustang Chassis Dynamometer

These items, combined with other modern equipment, are provided to students for training in their field.

Getting Your ASE Certification

ATC’s Automotive and Collision programs are based on specific subject matter that a technician will be required to understand in order to pass the ASE Technician certification exams.

We encourage you to register for the ASE certification exams while attending school, after you’ve completed a specific course like Brakes, Engine Repair, or Suspension & Steering. In addition to passing the exam, technicians are required to fulfill a work experience requirement of two years to become certified in most specialty areas. Graduates of our programs may qualify for a year of the work experience requirement.

While we do not offer or administer these exams at our location, we will provide information on how to register for them and help you find test sites in the area. Receiving ASE certification can make you a more attractive candidate to potential employers, so be sure to get in touch with us for further information about these exams.
