In the Automotive Technology program, learn the theory and operation of transmissions, along with key engine components. You’ll become familiar with brakes, their operation, and how to provide service and repair.

Tackle modern engines, electrical systems, and the service and repair of air conditioning and heating systems.

You will learn from experienced instructors who have at least three years of experience in their field. Many instructors on staff at ATC, however, have over two decades of experience in their field.

Automotive and Hi-Performance Technology Program
Courses taught include:
- Brakes
- Engine Repair
- Electrical Systems
- Engine Performance
- Computer Controls & Electronic Diagnostics
- Machine Shop
- Advanced Machine Shop & Engine Rebuilding
The machine shop courses teach the process of engine rebuilding and engine assembly. Diagnose, recondition, and prep for assembly major engine components, like cylinder heads, camshafts, valve trains, and cylinder blocks.
Work with the equipment you’ll see in the field, including:
- Superflow Powermark engine dynamometer
- Hines Legend Crankshaft Balancer
- Superflow SF-450 Flowbench
- Mustang Chassis Dynamometer
Once you’ve received the knowledge required to take the next steps in your career, you may be prepared for that career after graduation.
Entry-level positions specific to the hi-performance program include:
- Automotive machinist
- Engine builder
- Performance technician
Automotive and Diesel Technology Program
Automotive and diesel courses:
- Manual Drive Train & Axles
- Brakes
- Engine Repair
- Diesel Engines
- Diesel Fuel Systems
The theory of operation, diagnosis, and service and repair of diesel engines will be covered in these courses. Review and prepare for the ASE Light Diesel exam.
If you have dreams of working on larger engines and complex fuel systems, our diesel program may be the best fit for you. You’ll become familiar with some of the top diesel brands in the industry, too.
Graduates of our diesel mechanic school can qualify for an entry-level position as:
- Injection pump rebuilder
- Heavy equipment technician

Collision Reconditioning Technology Program
When a vehicle has suffered damage in an accident, a collision repair technician will be there to make the necessary repairs. Graduates of this program are designated as I-CAR ProLevel Technicians and receive certificates of recognition in various areas.

- Welding & Non-Structural Damage Repair
- Surface Preparation
- Structural Damage Repair
- Painting & Refinishing
- Cost Estimating & Damage Repair
Following time spent in our collision courses, you will be prepared for a career as a collision technician. There may be numerous opportunities post-graduation. You’ve worked hard on live vehicles in our shop facilities, and now you are ready to pursue a career as a:

Marine Service Technology Program
You’ll become familiar with the top manufacturers in the marine industry, including Mercury Marine, Honda Marine, and Yamaha Outboard. Basics of seamanship will be discussed, too.

- Marine Electrical & Air Conditioning Systems
