Exploring a Marine Mechanic Career

Marine classes are taught exclusively at the Automotive Training Center Warminster campus. Instructors have been teaching classes since our Warminster campus opened in 2006. At this location, you’ll have the opportunity to practice on inboard, outboard, and sterndrive engines, which may power either commercial or pleasure boats.
Students will also learn the finer points of engine technology in the classroom, though about half of your time will be spent in the lab working on engines. Of course, the marine program will also focus on supportive systems and sub-systems. You’ll need to know about engines, yes, but also the electrical system, plumbing, air conditioning, and heating, among other things.
Entry-level positions available upon graduation may include marine service technician, refrigeration and air conditioning tech, electrician, or gelcoat and fiberglass technician.
Enjoy Spending Time Outdoors? Do It on the Water
A marine mechanic school can help you navigate your way towards a career you love. There are many Americans each year who take their boats out on the water and expect the best. Oftentimes, the best is made possible by an experienced marine mechanic.
Marine mechanics solve engine issues, repair gelcoat and fiberglass, winterize, and prepare boats for the spring and summer seasons. At ATC, you’ll get the hands-on training necessary, working on engines made by top manufacturers, including Honda, Yamaha, and Mercury Marine.
Once you’ve graduated, you can expect to work on watercrafts of various shapes and sizes, handling routine maintenance and communicating with customers to handle their requests. Plus, you’ll get to drive a lot of boats in the process. Does that sound like something you’d be interested in? If so, it’s time to apply to our marine mechanic school.
