Automotive Technology Program
In our Automotive Technology program, you’ll work with knowledgeable instructors to prepare for a career as an automotive technician. You’ll learn all about the theory and operation of transmissions, how to perform general vehicle maintenance, and what kinds of repairs brakes and engine components require.
When enrolled in this program, you’ll learn about:

Automotive and Hi-Performance Technology Program
The Automotive and Hi-Performance Technology program at ATC focuses on getting the most out of the engine. Performance matters, and you’ll learn that through the following courses:
- Engine Repair
- Electrical Systems
- Engine Performance
- Computer Controls & Electronic Diagnostics
- Machine Shop
- Advanced Machine Shop & Engine Rebuilding
These courses cover hi-performance engines, along with reconditioning, diagnosis, and preparation for assembly of major engine components. These components will be well-known to you by the time the program has reached its conclusion, and include cylinder heads, crankshafts, camshafts, and valve trains.
You’ll become familiar with the latest equipment, too, including:
- Superflow Powermark engine dynamometer
- Hines Legend Crankshaft Balancer
- Superflow SF-450 Flowbench
- Mustang Chassis Dynamometer
Automotive and Diesel Mechanic Technology Program
In this program, the following courses are offered:
- Manual Drive Train & Axles
- Brakes
- Engine Repair
- Diesel Engines
- Diesel Fuel Systems
Tune-up and maintenance procedures will be covered as well, and you’ll prepare for the ASE Light Diesel exam.
Collision Repair Technology Program
If a vehicle has been damaged in an accident, it will require collision repair. This program teaches students that it’s not always about just the way the car looks, but how it functions, too.

- Painting & Refinishing
- Cost Estimate & Damage Repair
Marine Mechanic Technology Program
For many students at ATC, a career out on the water may be more preferable. Learn about basic seamanship and marine technology, including the principles of inboard and inboard/outboard engines and how safety equipment works.
