Fun in the sun doesn’t get much better than visiting a waterpark. Whether you’re with friends or family, it’s a great way to enjoy the summer weather. Here are three favorite nearby waterparks worth visiting.
Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark
Head for the Poconos to Camelbeach, the largest waterpark in Pennsylvania. Cool off on a hot summer’s day at the waterpark, and try out one of the water thrill rides. The thrill rides include tube slides, body slides, and river adventures, along with challenging races and surfing.
Show off your skills at the Flowrider, allowing a pair of boogie boarders to ride simultaneously. High Noon Typhoon, a new feature, enhances the mountain with its amazing views, speed, G-forces, and hang time as you look above the Pocono tree tops. When Camelbeach closes for the season, be sure to check out the Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark; both are part of the Camelback Resort.
Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom
Explore Wildwater Kingdom, the coolest place to slide, splash, and hang out. Cool off in the summer, plunging down the Python Plummet or splashing away in the Lollipop Lagoon. These attractions please everyone who loves water. Try the 70-foot tall Aquablast, or Patriot’s Plunge, with various slides ending in a splash-pool below.
Don’t forget to fuel up while visiting. There are many restaurants throughout the venue, including favorites like Auntie Anne’s, Chickie’s and Pete’s, and Rita’s Italian Ice. Make it a special trip with a cabana rental, get early access to Wildwater Kingdom, and accommodate guests with VIP luxuries and amenities.
Dutch Wonderland and Duke’s Lagoon
Duke’s Lagoon is a part of Dutch Wonderland, and features a multi-level waterway platform, kid-friendly slides, and various spray nozzles, jets, tipping cones, and a tipping bucket. The lounge area keeps with the tropical-paradise theme, with palm trees, thatched umbrella shaded areas, and lots of seating.
The Pipeline Plunge features two different slides. Which will you choose, black or blue? Regardless of which one you choose, it’ll be a blast. This attraction is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, from 10:00 AM until dusk. Once you’re done, head back to Dutch Wonderland and explore the exciting rides.
