Bringing Cars Back to Life Through Collision Repair

Collision Mechanic School near Bensalem PAIf you’ve ever been in an accident, you know the first thing to attend to is your health and the health of anyone else involved. After that has been settled, you’ll need to survey any damage and start thinking about repairing the car. If your car has been in an accident, you want to make sure it’s in good hands. Many of the collision repair technicians in the area have gotten their start here at our automotive technician and mechanic school.

Our collision repair program at ATC is known as the Collision Reconditioning Technology program. The program includes metalworking, body repair, frame repair, welding, painting and refinishing, and much more. You’ll work on electrical and steering components and suspension systems, ensuring a car is road-ready once again.

You’ll gain experience working on cars in various conditions. The vehicle may have minor fender bender damage, or it could have been in a major accident. Each car is unique, and you’ll learn how to treat it as such.

Diagnosing A Vehicle After an Accident

Collision Mechanic School near Bensalem PAEvery car is designed to be able to handle front- and back-end collision damage thanks to “crumple zones” which can prevent more serious damage. If you’re in a front-end accident, the hood of the vehicle may incur the most damage. They’re meant to buckle to prevent windshield damage and damage around the passenger area, too.

ATC students will also handle rear damage to a vehicle. Bumpers are meant to withstand collisions and act as crash energy absorbers, to prevent damage to the trunk, fuel tank, and exhaust system. Working with our experienced instructors both in the classroom and in the lab, you’ll learn what happens in a car accident and what needs to be done to restore a vehicle to its previous state.
