Pennhurst Asylum

Scary AsylumsA once functioning asylum that was abandoned for years and left to rot, legend has it that in more recent years, Pennhurst Asylum in Spring City, PA, served a secret purpose as the complex where a European doctor conducted eerie surgical experiments on live prison inmates. That is, until a dangerous fire and uprising killed him and left several of his research subjects to roam free.

Today, the doctor’s spirit is very much alive within Pennhurst Asylum’s walls, where many of the original 1908 hospital beds, drawers, and artifacts add to the effect of each asylum room of your haunted walkthrough. High-tech animatronics and uncannily realistic actors will have you wondering whether you’re in a haunted show or a haunted reality.

Get tickets for Pennhurst on their website and don’t forget to like them on Facebook and get a sneak peek of this year’s updates to the show on Instagram.

Valley of Terror

A zombie outbreak from a nearby town has infiltrated what would be beautiful rolling fields in West Chester, PA, by day, and they’re looking for their next source of prey. Experience the Valley of Terror’s nighttime inhabitants behind the solace of a 40-foot military truck supplied with 22 paintball shooting stations. Your mission? Take down the rampant zombie population as a team. Just make sure that you come up with a strategy before your ammunition runs out.

The Valley’s second attraction happens on foot with a terrifying jaunt through the adjacent densely wooded forest. Without a flashlight, it’s hard to tell what else is waiting for you in the dark. Will you come out on the other side before the forest’s company closes in?

For tickets to the Valley of Terror’s bone chilling, high-startle events, head over to their website. Don’t forget to check them out on Facebook and see what shrieks (aka tweets) are surfacing from the valley on social media when you follow @valleyofterror.
