3 Rewarding Volunteer Opportunities near Exton, PA

Here at Automotive Training Center (ATC), we’re always on the lookout for ways to give back to our local community in and around Exton, PA.

Volunteering with a non-profit organization is a meaningful and rewarding way to spend your downtime, and Chester County has many organizations in need of individuals who have a passion for helping others. Check out these three volunteer opportunities below:

Brandywine Valley SPCA

The Brandywine Valley SPCA (BV SPCA), which opened in 1929, is an organization with an impressive first for animal shelters in PA, as the first no-kill, open admission shelter. Standing up for animal rights, enabling cats and dogs to live fulfilling lives, and connecting prospective pets with loving owners in the area… The work done by the Brandywine Valley SPCA will give you the warm fuzzies.

The BV SPCA wouldn’t be able to do this incredible work without the help of their volunteers, foster pet partners, and individuals who adopt.

How can I help?

Aside from adding a furry friend to your family, there’s a huge variety of volunteer opportunities available at the West Chester location including snapping photos for pet profiles, walking or training dogs and cats, baking dog treats, or repping SPCA on adoption tours.

Main Line Animal Rescue

Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) is a fellow force-for-good in the animal rights realm fighting to change the tides of animal abuse and pet neglect on a local and national level. Over the years, MLAR has earned momentous recognition in the public eye, collaborating with major news organizations to shut down puppy mills, and revise state breeding and dog laws.

More than 600 volunteers make MLAR’s success possible, in saving local animals in need, and rewriting how animals are treated in many regions.

How can I help?

Whether you’re snuggling dogs who need extra TLC, getting shy cats to come out of their shells, or tending to the rescue’s on-site “bunny garden,” which grows fresh lettuce for their rabbit residents to eat, there are plenty of fun and fulfilling ways to give back at MLAR. There are opportunities for student volunteers, too!

Safe Harbor of Chester County

For anyone, home is crucial to finding stability and growth. Safe Harbor of Chester County not only provides 40 single men and women with a safe place to call home, but they personally invest in each of their residents and get to know their unique needs. Safe Harbor also helps residents get back on their feet with life skills training, job placement programs, access to health and wellness services, and so much more.

Over 400 volunteers keep Safe Harbor in tip-top shape and provide its residents with great care.

How can I help?

With a commercial kitchen that serves lunch for 30 to 50 weekly, bedrooms and rec areas to maintain, as well as all the services that Safe Harbor connects its residents with, volunteer opportunities abound!

Volunteer Today!

Take more time for yourself and others this year by giving back to one of these top-notch non-profit organizations seeking volunteers.
