The United States Bureau of Labor and Statistics tracks this data. According to the BLS, the median yearly salary for mechanics in 2018 was $40,710, or $19.57 per hour.* While these numbers are affected by where you work, weekly schedule, and years of experience, it does provide a baseline of what you can expect.
