James Bonds Aston Martin in 007

Inside James Bond’s Aston Martin in New 007 Movie

Famous spy James Bond has always driven a car that’s just as stylish, sleek, and capable as he is, and his ride in the upcoming 007 movie Spectre is no different.

To celebrate the 50 years since Bond first drove an Aston Martin in the 1964 film Goldfinger, the car maker has specially designed a new model, the DB-10, just for the latest Bond movie.

Because Aston Martin is building only 10 of these vehicles, which will be used exclusively for filming the new Bond movie, you likely won’t have the opportunity to experience the vehicle firsthand. However, here we’ll give you a small taste of the newest Bond vehicle.

Exterior

The Aston Martin DB-10 is a sleek, silver, two-door coupe that features a long hood, curvy running lines, and a strong overall design. Its low-profile roof enhances the vehicle’s aerodynamics, while the rear features a wide stance that highlights the car’s power. The DB-10 seems to be cut short, with minimal trunk space after the rear wheels, most likely to reduce drag for when Bond is outrunning any number of villains.

Performance

Of course, Bond’s car can perform at an exceptional level. That’s why the Aston Martin DB-10 features a 4.7-liter eight-cylinder engine, and the vehicle itself is built with carbon fiber, which helps reduce weight and increase aerodynamics.

Interior Gadgets

Any Bond fan will tell you that the gadgets and features of his car are the most impressive aspects of the character. Whether it’s a machine gun in the front bumper, an oil slick dispenser in the rear, or even a heat-seeking missile detector, Bond’s car has to be ready for anything.

Unfortunately for auto enthusiasts, we’ll have to wait until we see the movie to find out what hidden gadgets the Aston Martin DB-10 has. The designers and film producers have been good about keeping their mouths shut regarding this subject.

Design

The design of the Aston Martin DB-10 came from a team led by Aston Martin chief creative officer Marek Reichman and Spectre director Sam Mendes. The goal of the overall design was to further develop the DB-10 to make it the ultimate car for the world’s most famous spy. The vehicle needed to be sleek and low key to fit the persona of a spy but still remain elegant while turning heads, as all Aston Martins do.

Can I Buy One?

Unfortunately, the James Bond Aston Martin DB-10 won’t be available for sale. Only 10 will be produced for the film and used only for that purpose. However, the DB-10 isn’t an official extension of the Aston Martin DB-9, so while this DB-10 is off limits, keep your eyes peeled for an official release of the Aston Martin DB-10 that will be available to everyone other than 007. Just don’t expect it to have all of James Bond’s gadgets.
